Scripture: For a righteous man falls seven times, and rises again (Proverbs 24:16).
Today’s Thought: All of us will fail at times. But if failure is truly the seedbed of success, we must continue to grow even when it appears that we’ve been buried by our mistakes. The key is to identify what went wrong, learn how to correct our course, and keep moving forward.
Harland Sanders suffered several business failures, but he continued to persevere until eventually he founded Kentucky Fried Chicken. Likewise, it is said that Thomas Edison failed ten thousand times before he perfected the incandescent light bulb.
Next time you fall short, don’t try to cover it up. Be honest about your shortcomings. Ask friends and business associates for insight into what went wrong and for counsel on how to improve. Learn from your mistakes and persevere, and your success will surely grow!
Let your eyes look directly ahead, and let your gaze be fixed straight in front of you (Proverbs 4:25).

Next time you fall short, don’t try to cover it up.
