Scripture: Let everyone be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger (James 1:19).
Today’s Thought: The further removed we are from the sales floor, customer service, or manufacturing, the more effective listeners we must become to avoid losing touch with the vital pulse of our business. We must develop the habit of truly listening to our staff and heeding what they have to say. We cannot afford to allow our ego, pride, or the sense that we’ve already “been there and done that” to close our ears to the news from the front lines.
Furthermore, when employees make suggestions for ways to improve the business, we would be wise to consider their perspective and reward their initiative. Learn to listen to your staff and your business will grow as well.
Incline your ear and hear the words of the wise, and apply your mind to my knowledge (Proverbs 22:17).
We must develop the habit of truly listening to our staff and heeding what they have to say.
