Scripture: But when Pharaoh saw that the rain and the hail and the thunder had ceased, he sinned again and hardened his heart (Exodus 9:34).
Today’s Thought: When God sent the plagues to Egypt, Pharaoh quickly agreed to change his behavior and allow the Israelites to leave. However, as soon as each plague was lifted, he reverted back to his original stubbornness ad refused to let the people go. The result each time was more trouble.
When the pressure is on in business, we may step up our performance in response to the crisis. For example, to solve a cashflow crunch we might begin aggressively collecting our accounts receivable. However, when the storm clouds pass, we often relax and go back to business a usual, as if collection were no longer important.
When you make positive changes to solve a problem, don’t stop when the pressure eases. Maintain your focus and intensity, and you won’t face the same problems over and over again.
The hand of the diligent will rule, but the slack hand will be put to forced labor (Proverbs 12:24).
When you make positive changes to solve a problem, don’t stop when the pressure eases.
