Do you struggle with tough decisions at work?

Scripture: How can I alone bear the load and burden of you and your strife? (Deuteronomy 1:12).

Today’s Thought: Accept responsibility for the decisions you can make, and make them. Don’t push decisions up to your boss that have been delegated to you and that you are capable of making. Make a habit of solving problems, not creating new ones.

But when you are stumped by a decision at work and need help, don’t let pride stop you from asking your boss for assistance. There’s no point in struggling if your boss’s experience and insight can help to resolve the issue more quickly. The key is to know when to ask for help.

When you approach your boss for help, outline the issues, give your perspective, and then ask for advice and counsel. Most managers are willing, even eager, to assist in making decisions, especially when you have done your homework.

Learn from your boss’s example, and your own decision-making skills will improve.

For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul (Proverbs 2:10).
