Scripture: In all things show yourselves to be an example of goods deeds…dignified, sound in speech which is beyond reproach, in order that the opponent may be put to shame, having nothing bad to say about us (Titus 2:7-8).
Today’s Thought: The competitive nature of some organizations creates a climate where office politics, personal attacks, and contentious relationships are allowed to flourish. If your company is one where backstabbing and whispering are tolerated, your best defense is to keep your conduct above reproach. Don’t give others a chance to slander you.
At first, your efforts to walk in a godly manner may open you to increased criticism, but as you persevere in righteousness and continue to set an example of hard work, gentle speech, honesty and integrity, your good deeds will put your detractors to shame. Your boss will notice your composure and confidence and your results and you will advance in your career.
A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger (Proverbs 15:1).
If your company is one where backstabbing and whispering are tolerated, your best defense is to keep your conduct above reproach.
