In business discussions, do you speak first or listen?

Scripture: But let everyone be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger (James 1:19).
Today’s Thought: During business meetings, don’t be too quick to speak. Allow the leader to establish the ground rules and give others a chance to express their viewpoints. Use this time to take notes and refine the points you want to make later.
Focus on building a logical argument that covers both the pros and cons of the subject. Jot down a short outline or notes to keep organized. Then, when you’re fully prepared, jump into the discussion. Confidently cover your points, supporting your position with necessary information.
If others disagree, ask them to explain their reasons. Listen to their input and consider your response before you reply. Again, take notes. If you believe their objections are invalid, return the discussion to the facts that support your position. If you are wrong, graciously concede.
Follow these rules and your value in meetings will increase.
Listen, for I shall speak noble things; and the opening of my lips will produce right things (Proverbs 8:6).
Focus on building a logical argument that covers both the pros and cons of the subject.
