Is your staff made up of talkers or doers?

Scripture: Let no one deceive you with empty words (Ephesians 5:6).
Today’s Thought: As managers, we may be easily swayed by staff members who talk about their plans and ideas but do they produce results? We must differentiate between those who merely talk a good game and those who deliver.
Ask subordinates to put their plans in writing, along with a description of how they intend to achieve their objectives. Make sure every goal is measurable and that reasonable deadlines have been established. Then follow up on their promises and hold them accountable for their results.
Don’t let talkers off the hook. Take good notes during meetings so that you’ll have an accurate record of what has been discussed. Follow up with “memos of understanding” to insure everyone is on the same page.
Coach the talkers and reward the doers, and you’ll soon build the best staff possible for your business.
A fool’s mouth is his ruin, and his lips are the snare of his soul (Proverbs 18:7)
We must differentiate between those who merely talk a good game and these who deliver.
