As a business owner or CEO, do you seek outside counsel?

Scripture: She heeded no voice; she accepted no instruction (Zephaniah 3:2).

Today’s Thought: Any leader, especially a business owner or CEO, may feel isolated as if there are no available peers with whom to take counsel. Not just anyone has the experience or qualifications to advise leaders at the top levels of management.

Though qualified counselors may be rare, they do exist. Talk to other business owners to seek out those whose business acumen can challenge or argument yours. Offer your own expertise in a mutually beneficial exchange.

Share key business issues and decisions, and ask for counsel. When your friends speak, open your ears and be willing to follow their advice. Don’t dismiss criticism or downplay constructive insight. You’ll no loner feel alone in the battle when you seek wise counsel to enhance your business success.

Without consultation, plans are frustrated, but with many counselors they succeed (Proverbs 15:22).

Seek out those whose business acumen can challenge or augment yours.
