Do you strengthen your staff by showing concern?

Scripture: He gives strength to the weary (Isaiah 40:29).

Today’s Thought: Whether business is booming, times are tough, or everything is status quo, there will be times when your staff grows weary. Be alert for the early warning signs of burnout and fatigue, and be ready to make an investment in your most valuable asset your people.

When you notice someone dragging or seeming out of sorts, take a few minutes to find out what the issues are and if you can help. Remember to listen before you speak, and don’t try to have all the answers. Be sympathetic and encouraging, and reinforce a positive perspective. Genuine care and concerns is often the best thing you can offer to someone who is tired or discouraged.

Don’t drop the ball when the situation starts to improve. Reaffirm your support. When the person is feeling better, take some time to dig into the underlying issues, if possible, in order to alleviate future concerns. Invest in strengthening your staff, and your whole business will be stronger.

It will be healing to your body, and refreshment to your bones (Proverbs 3:8).

Genuine care and concerns is often the best thing you can offer to someone who is tired or discouraged.
