Scripture: Put on a heart of compassion; . . . Forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against any one (Colossians 3:12-13).
Today’s Thought: When an employee makes a mistake, we must first identify the problem and its source, discuss the consequences of the error for the person and the company, and determine what improvements must
occur. Then we must make sure the necessary changes have been made, and that the problem has been solved permanently.
When employees understand and acknowledge their shortcoming, and show ability and a willingness to improve, we must extend forgiveness and not allow past actions to cloud our current attitudes. If the person has taken the necessary steps to correct the problem and keep it from happening again, compliment those changes and then move on. Only revisit the issue if the same problem recurs.
Offer genuine forgiveness, encourage positive change, and watch your staff blossom in their confidence and ability.
Stern discipline is for him who forsakes the way; he who hates reproof will die (Proverbs 15:10).
We must extend forgiveness and not allow past actions to cloud our current attitudes.
