Do you waste time worrying about circumstances you can’t control?

Scripture: Therefore do not be anxious for tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own (Matthew 6:34).

Today’s Thought: When circumstances go against you and your business is facing adversity, it’s time to narrow your focus. That’s not to say you should bury your head in the sand, or pretend that everything is rosy when it’s not, but when a situation is overwhelming, the wise course of action is to stop and ask yourself what you can change with your available resources.

Focus on small actions that will improve your situation. It’s like sailing on the ocean during a major storm. You can’t stop the wind or the waves, but you can bail water out of the boat.

Don’t ignore trouble, but look for positive action you and your staff can take. Commit your ways to God in prayer, and then attack the problem where you can make the most difference. Your cool-headed leadership in times of trouble may very well save the day for your business.

If you are slack in the day of distress, your strength is limited (Proverbs 24:10)

You can’t stop the wind or the waves, but you can bail water out of the boat.
