Scripture: He who tends the fig tree will eat its fruit; and he who cares for his master will be honored (Proverbs 27:18).

Today’s Thought: A peach tree left to itself will grow and yield some fruit, but the peaches are likely to be small and hard and sour. Producing a bumper crop of sweet, luscious fruit requires hard work and careful attention. Each tree must be watered, pruned, sprayed, and thinned. In addition, ongoing care is required to avoid leaf blight or an infestation of insects.

Your business is like a tree in that it requires continual attention to produce optimum results. Practice “management by walking around” to find out what’s really going on. Talk to your staff, ask key questions, and listen to their suggestions and concerns.

Stay in touch with your customers. Make a habit of calling clients to solicit their feedback, and take prompt action to resolve any issues or complaints.

Verify product or service quality yourself. Work to continually improve your processes, and remove obstacles that prevent your employees from working efficiency and effectively.

Daily diligence will pay big dividends, allowing your business to yield the sweet fruit of success.

Go to the ant, O sluggard, observe her ways and be wise (Proverbs 6:6).
