Scripture: Thus Solomon finished the house of the LORD and the king’s palace, and successfully completed all that he had planned (2 Chronicles 7:11).
Today’s Thought: A lot of managers have great plans. They start well, but then struggle to bring their projects to completion. By contrast, Solomon successfully completed his building projects in a little over twenty years.
To keep your projects on track until they’re done, write your detailed plan with a series of interim goals. Establish achievable benchmarks for each month, quarter, and year. Benchmarks help you to track your progress as you work toward a long-term goal, and they foster a sense of accomplishment as progress is documented.
Then follow through with a consistent effort. Before you know it, your long-term projects will be brought to completion.
A slothful man does not roast his prey, but the precious possession of a man is diligence (Proverbs 12:27).
Establish achievable benchmarks for each month, quarter, and year.
